Our Lent Project was the creation of 'Windsails' in the Church to represent the Holy Spirit within our Church. This was first presented at Lindisfarme by Wendy Rudd, a textile artist, and was very well received by the visitors over the summer season.
We invited Wendy to hold a workshop for us here at
St John's and under the guidance of Chris Branch, a
member of our congregation, pupils of Great Meols
Primary School, the Brownies and many of our own
Church Members have worked hard to make at least
200 pieces to make up our exhibition.
We would like to extend our grateful thanks to Wendy Rudd and Chris Branch for
sharing this wonderful experience with us during Lent.
The 'Windsails' were dedicated on Easter Sunday and you are warmly invited to
come and view the exhibition between 10-12noon on Tues, Wed and Thurs
when the Church will be open.
Tranquility, pain and suffering, relationships and family trees, held in the balance
of God were words used to express how visitors felt about the exhibition at
Lindisfarme. Come and see what you think about our 'Windsails' and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee,
when you can let us know what the exhibition at St John's means to you.
